Data Utilization in the Classroom
Target Audience: K-12 teachers and administrators
With an increasing amount of student data available to teachers and administrators, understanding how to use this information to increase student achievement is more important than ever. This program provides teachers and administrators with a broad understanding of how to analyze student data, and particularly, how to use the data to target specific student needs. A variety of very practical approaches and classroom case studies are used to illustrate how data has changed instructional practice and improved student achievement results. You will hear from some of the country’s leading experts such as Dr. Mike Schmoker discussing how to develop a culture of "data awareness" and Dr. Victoria Bernhardt providing teachers with a step by step approach to creating a school portfolio. Dr. Giselle Martin-Kneip and Dr. Ted Repa discuss suggested data tools to continuously measure the effect your targeted instruction is having. Data mining and data warehousing are also discussed in this program.
