Increasing Student Achievement through Differentiated Instruction

Target Audience: K-12 teachers and administrators
(12 hours of viewing content)

Teachers know instinctively that all kids are different and the best ways to reach each individual student will also be diverse. With NCLB, they are required to reach not just the majority of students, but everyone. This course will give you the skills that will enable you to assess the learning styles, intelligences, ability and interest of all learners. Through a review of videotaped workshop presentations developed by Colorado Centennial BOCES, participants will learn: multiple intelligences, needs of students, higher-level thinking skills, instruction strategies, tiered assignments, concept mapping, graphic organizers and assessing learning in both formative and summative formats. Additionally, you will be given tools as handouts to help you plan your differentiated lessons.
